"The Poet" found dead at Occupy OKC
OKLAHOMA CITY – An Occupy OKC protester was found dead in his tent in downtown Oklahoma City Monday afternoon, according to the Oklahoma City Police Department.
Police said the man was found dead in his tent at Robert S. Kerr Avenue and Broadway in downtown Oklahoma City.
According to police, it appears the man died of natural causes. However, this case is still under investigation.
Occupy OKC released the following statement on the death of the protestor.
“Occupy OKC is saddened by the passing of one of the participants camping at Kerr Park in Oklahoma City earlier this afternoon. Known simply as ‘The Poet,’ he was a very friendly and outgoing person. Known to be homeless, Occupy OKC provided him with food, clothing, and shelter. At a Candlelight Vigil last night to honor first responders, The Poet delivered a powerful poetic commentary about the complexities of homelessness and drug abuse, and the system’s failure to adequately deal with these issues. The Poet was found dead in his tent at Kerr Park earlier this afternoon by other participants. Police and emergency personnel were immediately contacted. Occupy OKC is withholding information concerning The Poet’s identity pending notification of his family by authorities. Police are currently at the scene investigating his cause of death which is presently unknown and Occupy OKC is in full cooperation with their investigation. Occupy OKC has been actively cooperating with the Oklahoma City Police Department to ensure the safety of all participants at the Kerr Park occupation.”
According to Occupy OKC, all their scheduled events on Monday have been canceled.

OKC Police Arrest Naked Man Running With Bible, Gin Bottle
“Witnesses called police Saturday, October 8, after spotting a naked man running near N.W. 50th Street and Independence in Oklahoma City.
Oklahoma City police say the man was running westbound when officers stopped him and forced him at gunpoint to get on the ground.
Police handcuffed the man then wrapped him in a blanket. He was later identified as 22-year-old Antonio Laray Fuller.
Officers say Fuller was completely nude but was carrying a bible and a bottle of gin. He told the arresting officers he was on his way to church.”
Compared to what other naked dudes have been doing when arrested (just off the top of my head: high speed chases, punching girlfriends, and masturbating behind vending machines) this is quite respectable. I mean, he was still fucked up and naked in public but, you know. Could’ve been worse.

Tulsa Restaurant Robbery Goes Unnoticed By Other Customers
“Tulsa Police say a man walked into the store at 14th and Peoria around 11 p.m. wearing black face paint and a dreadlocks wig.
He lifted his jacket and showed an employee a hand gun stuck in his belt.
The man got the cash and somehow walked out of the restaurant unnoticed by customers inside.
No one was hurt and police are still looking for the suspect.
Tulsa Police describe the suspect as a white male, 5’08” and 150 lbs. The suspect had dreadlocks that the cashier thought was a wig. He was wearing all black clothing and had his face painted black.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS.”
Shiiiit this is right where I live. This Whataburger seems to get robbed a lot though. I’m surprised they don’t have surveillance cameras by this point.

Police: Man Stole Cattle To Help Pay For Rape Defense
“A Cleveland County man convinced his wife to help steal cattle, in order to sell them so he could use the money to defend himself against a rape charge, sheriff’s deputies said.
Cleveland County deputies arrested Jessie and Levi Alexander on Sunday. Levi Alexander confessed to stealing about 11 cows from the land owned by Bobby Tarp in southern Cleveland County, according to the sheriff’s department. Also arrested was a juvenile male, who allegedly helped with the theft.
The trio stole the cows Sunday from a property located on Burkett Road, a half-a-mile south of Banner Road in Cleveland County, deputies said. They took 11 and allowed up to 29 to roam free. One cow died after landing on her back in a small stock tank. According to a court affidavit, the trio did not attempt to rescue the fallen cow.
Alexander has a criminal record and told authorities the theft was his idea, deputies said. They were able to sell the cows at an auction before deputies arrested them.
Alexander told authorities he needed the money to defend a rape charge against him, deputies said.”
